About Samuel Ellis UVA Law

Currently pursuing studies at the University of Virginia School of Law (UVA Law), Samuel Ellis holds responsibilities as on the editorial board of the Virginia Journal of International Law. Samuel Ellis has also founded UVA Law’s North Grounds Track Club, where he serves as president. Mr. Ellis earned his undergraduate degree in international affairs, authoring his thesis on the topic “Terminal High-Altitude Aerial Defense Systems in South Korea.” For his work, we received the Outstanding International Affairs Student award. He served as president of the undergraduate student body and helped establish the first-ever polling precinct in the nation that was entirely staffed by students. As poll manager for Fulton Country Department of Registration and Elections from October 2020 to January 2021, Mr. Ellis guided one of the largest joint precincts in Atlanta. Adhering to secretary of state documentation guidelines, he oversaw the local administration of mayoral and presidential elections. He also addressed issues with voting machines as they arose and coordinated with industrial engineers to create a voter-traffic-optimized precinct layout.
